Unknown paintings

The “image no one has ever seen before” is inherent in the image we have already seen before. I duplicate on canvas to make it visible.

Duplicating an image is also an act of making a difference. I allow the difference that arise from drawing to be transformed into “image that only I can see”. It’s like stripping away the original meaning and overlay it with the meaning I can give it from my personal background. I believe that the reality of the painting lies in the difference between the same observable image and the image with a different structure.

If painting is something that gives us a different perspective on the world, then it is possible to work of it as a subjective fragment. Our future is woven from these fragments.
